Important Information

Frequently asked Questions

Like any reputable business we trade subject to the law and consumer regulations, and like any other purchase, a wedding booking involves a legal contract between buyer and seller. We appreciate it may not be high on your list but please take the time to read this important information, as well as the frequently asked questions, before booking your wedding. Thank you!

Making your initial enquiry and booking

Please email info@unforgettablerhodesweddings.com and we will happily call you back to discuss your requirements. If you have an idea of the date you wish to get married and at which wedding venue, we'll start discussing your wedding plans, but of course if you have not quite decided which venue you want, we'll give you all the advice you need to make a decision.

Your request will be forwarded to our Wedding Co-ordinator in Rhodes who will check on availability of your chosen venue and availability of the registrar or priest to conduct your wedding/blessing.

You will be asked to fill out and sign our booking form and agree to the Terms and Conditions on this page. Once received you will then be sent a deposit invoice.

Please note: When booking a wedding package via Unforgettable Greek Weddings you are also agreeing to use all of our suppliers. As a wedding company we cannot accept you booking suppliers outside of our company as we cannot guarantee the quality of services you will receive and be responsible for any issues that may occur on your wedding day.

We strongly recommend that you advise your guests attending your wedding to book their flight and accommodation as soon as possible, so they get their preferred dates.

Deposits and Final Payments

A 20% deposit is paid upon booking, which is a non-refundable deposit. The final balance payment must be paid 7-8 weeks prior to when you fly to Rhodes. If the balance is not received by this date, Unforgettable Greek Weddings Ltd has the right to cancel your booking and retain any monies paid. If you cancel your wedding once the final payment has been paid and up to 4 weeks prior to the wedding day you will receive 50% of the final outstanding balance that was paid, any cancellations made later than this Unforgettable Greek Weddings Ltd will retain all monies paid.

Some suppliers require a non-refundable deposit to confirm their services, we will confirm these at time of booking.

Paperwork and Legal Requirements

We'll take you through all the requirements and procedures for your wedding in Rhodes, which will differ depending on the type of wedding ceremony you have selected. You must ensure the required legal documents we need are received by us in Rhodes at least six weeks before your departure from the UK, and recommend you post these by either tracked post or courier service. If you fail to send us the required paperwork, you will be responsible for any additional fee incurred, so please check carefully before posting.

If your paperwork is not received in time or incorrect Unforgettable Greek weddings Ltd cannot be held responsible if the Town Hall cancels the wedding.

Usually you are required to be in Rhodes for five days, but we will confirm this at time of booking. Most wedding ceremonies take place Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays). Saturdays are usually kept for 'local weddings' and Sundays are classed as a day of rest, and weddings are not possible. Greek weddings can be arranged for the weekends. Once the date of your wedding ceremony has been confirmed, we will then confirm this to you in writing. Unlike other companies, we will be able to confirm the date and time of your wedding at time of booking.

In very exceptional circumstances, the date of your wedding may have to be rescheduled - this is beyond our control and we cannot be held responsible for amendments to wedding times, dates or venues. Generally speaking this is down to registrar or the local town hall, as local priests have priority over the chapels and can at late notice plan a Greek wedding or Baptism which would require us to change our ceremony time, day or even venue. Changes may even take place as late as following your arrival in resort; although this is very rare. In this situation we will do everything to arrange a suitable alternative. We will advise you of any changes as soon as we are made aware of them. We recommend you prepare a list of all your guests' names, mobile numbers and the hotel they are staying, so we could inform them on your behalf, in the unlikely event of any change

Finishing Touches

We have a wide range of Finishing Touches to personalise the arrangements for your big day. Wedding bouquets, buttonholes, wedding car, champagne cruise, wedding singer - we've thought of everything and can send you, upon request, details and prices of what is available. Please remember, these are popular, so we strongly advise to book early. All finishing touches and 'extras' are paid for in Rhodes in Euros when you have your consultation with our Wedding Planner.

Our Suppliers

At Unforgettable Greek Weddings Ltd we work with efficient and professional suppliers, and are proud of the relationship we have built with them over many years. If any extra services booked are not available we will endeavour to find an alternative, if we are unable to secure this at the same cost, we will pass on the extra cost to you. Most of our additional extras do not require payment until your arrival in resort. The suppliers quote their prices at least one year in advance, and rarely do they implement any further increases after quotation within the year of your wedding. However if there are any increases as you pay for your wedding additional extras when in resort, you are obliged to pay the fees applicable at that time. Most increases are very minor, and we will advise you immediately of any that are implemented. The suppliers reserve the right to do this at any time, without any obligations. In the event of a boat trip not being permitted to sail due to high winds or rough sea, we would reimburse you all monies paid for the service.

Cancellation of a supplier once booked

If you wish to cancel one of our supplier's services before the 1st march of the wedding year, no charges will be made. If you wish to cancel one of our supplier's services within 6 weeks of your wedding date, a 50% cancellation charge will apply. If you cancel one of our supplier's services within 2 weeks of your wedding date, 100% cancellation charge will apply.

Last minute requests

Whilst we urge you not to leave anything until the last minute, we understand sometimes changes may become necessary, or you may want to request additional finishing touches as your departure date approaches. Just call us, and we'll do our utmost to meet your requests. Sometimes there may be an additional charge for changes, which we will always try and keep to a minimum.

Arriving in Rhodes & countdown to your big day

Prior to your arrival in Rhodes, we will confirm the date and time of your consultation shortly after you arrive in resort with our Unforgettable Rhodes Wedding Planner. At your consultation, we will go through all the arrangements made on your behalf, make preparations to finalise all the documentation and organise any official visits which may be required. This will also be the time to discuss the final details for anything else you have asked us to organise such as the flowers, transportation to the wedding venue, the reception, etc., plus perhaps advice on booking hairdresser and beauty treatments. Specific details about timings and procedures before and during the actual ceremony will be discussed with you.

Travel expenses for any visits you need to make in resort will need to be paid by yourself locally. We will assist you in arranging the visits, and your Wedding Planner will meet you at the Town Hall if you are required to sign any documents.

Your Wedding Day

You will have time to relax and get ready while your Wedding Planner makes the final checks on everything that you have booked such as the delivery of the flowers, transportation to your wedding venue, the photographer, the wedding reception, etc. She will also be responsible to ensure that everything runs smoothly up until we leave you to celebrate the happy event with family and friends.

Civil weddings are short ceremonies performed by a registrar or a mayor in English and Greek. Religious weddings/blessings last approximately 30 minutes. Prior to your religious wedding, you will have a chance to run through all aspects of the service, such as a special music request, poem, passage of the bible, etc, that you may wish to include.

After your wedding

Your wedding cost includes the issue of a copy of your marriage certificate translated into English. Sometimes your marriage certificate may not be ready to take back with you before you return home, in which case we will forward it to your home address by special delivery. There will be an additional cost for courier service. If you had engaged the services of a photographer, it is more than likely that you'll be able to see your photographs soon after your wedding day. For DVD's, we advise you to view and agree to the final compilation before you return home.

Changes or cancelling your wedding once confirmed

Should you need to change your wedding date, let us know immediately in writing. If we are able to comply with your request, a £20 wedding amendment fee will apply. The deposit paid at time of confirmation is non-refundable in the event of you cancelling your booking.

Except where otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions, we regret we cannot accept liability, give refunds or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our obligations under our contract with you is prevented or affected by or you otherwise suffer any damage, loss or expense of any nature as a result of "force majeure". In these terms and conditions "force majeure" means any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include actual or threatened war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity (actual or threatened) and its consequences, industrial dispute, general strikes, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions of any kind, fire, technical problems to transport, closure or congestion of airports, and all similar events outside our control.
